⭐ Upcoming Events

Plotly with Databricks In-Person Meetup

On April 17 at 1pm BST, Plotly’s local London team is organizing a special event for Databricks and Plotly users following the London Data Intelligence Day. For industry professionals, this is the ideal chance to network with like-minded people, learn tips and tricks, and discover high-value joint use cases. Come explore the unrealized possibilities of Databricks with Plotly. Spots are limited.

🌟 ODSC East

Catch us at ODSC East from April 23–25. At the event, we’ll discuss the importance of using the best data analytics tools and platforms to enable enterprises to build and scale data applications quickly and efficiently. Come say hi and meet our team, located at booth 19.

Plotly will also have two speaker slots. On April 23rd at 9:30 AM ET, Mingo Sanchez, Plotly Solutions Engineer, will lead a workshop on how to build interactive data apps with Dash. We also have members from the Kansas City Chiefs data analytics team presenting how they implemented Python analytics with Dash Enterprise. Michael Ragsdale, Vice President of Finance, Strategy, and Analytics, and Andrew Schutte, Senior Data Scientist will be presenting on April 23rd at 11:00 AM ET.

Accelerating Time to Insights for the Public Sector

We teamed up with Carahsoft for our next webinar! On April 10th, Mingo Sanchez, Plotly Solutions Engineer, will share how Plotly helps government organizations make data-driven decisions, faster. Deliver Predictive Analytics with Dash Enterprise and Databricks

​​During our March 20 webinar, UK Power Networks, a distribution network operator with 20 million customers, spoke about their data analytics needs. With Dash Enterprise and Databricks, their Decision Sciences team developed a production-grade low-voltage network capital planning app that enabled a better understanding of customers’ needs and behaviors, improved forecasting of consumption patterns, and optimized facilitation of efficient network upgrades.

CDAO Canada 2024

On March 26–27, Plotly team members Abe Warraich and Mingo Sanchez had an amazing time at CDAO Canada! They met with data and analytics leaders, discussing how to harness the power of data to drive business growth, enhance operational efficiency, and foster innovation.

🤝 Community Spotlight

➡️ Fraud Detection Dash App Community Challenge — The community challenge for this month was centered around fraud detection. The challenge involved developing a Dash application with credit card usage data visualization and a fraud prediction feature. The winning apps are:

  1. 🥇 Fraud Detection Dash App, created by Pablo, with the following code
  2. 🥈 Credit Card Transactions Dashboard, created by Rishi, with the following code.

➡️ Plotly Dash Online Course — Adam Schroeder, Plotly Community Manager, has created a free 6-session course that teaches how to build dashboards with Plotly Dash. In this course, he’ll teach you how to use Plotly Dash to better understand your datasets by creating flexible, interactive, and powerful apps that connect directly to your analytics code.

➡️ Folmer Krikken’s App — Using state-of-the-art (CMIP6) climate model data, Folmer Krikken developed Climateradar. It specializes in transforming raw weather and climate data into tailor-made, easily understandable, and user-friendly products. Built on Plotly Dash, the climate analyzer tools allow you to evaluate your current weather from a climate viewpoint and separate the effects of climate change. Get started here.

  • Dash Open Source Framework 2.16.1 (changelog) — Removed dynamic loading
  • Dash AG Grid 31.0.1 (changelog) — Updated README.md
  • Plotly.py 5.20.0 (changelog) — Add fill gradients for scatter traces and indentation to legend
  • Plotly.js 2.30.1 (changelog) — Fixed centering multi-line headers for treemap traces, heatmap text color and texttemplate on cells with missing data, and scattergl rendering when colors include capital letters
